Abstract
Research has been conducted on the polycatenar metallomesogens. The synthesis of these compounds containing a tropolone core joined to the benzylidine terminal rings has been investigated and the results indicate that the position, number and nature variation of the alkoxy substituents on the terminal rings allows for the phase behavior control of the compounds.
