Abstract
A study was done on the cell-cycle dependent localization of casein kinase I to mitotic spindles. Results have localized alpha casein kinase I to vesicular cytosolic structures and to the centrosomes in interphase cells. It associates with kinetochore fibers as cells progress into mitosis which suggest that this protein kinase is important in the segregation of chromosomes during mitosis and may be regulated by the cell cycle.
