Abstract
Wall Street analysts are predicting a healthy second quarter 1997 for the retail clothing industry, despite the sales declines suffered by several retailers in the first quarter of 1997. Growth in designer apparel sales should benefit high-end retailers such as Neiman Marcus Group and Saks Fifth Avenue, while Sears, Roebuck & Co. should continue to lead the moderate-priced retail sector.
