Abstract
The isolation and characterization of a second yeast FK506-binding protein (FKBP) from strains lacking yFKBP-12 as well as the cloning, sequencing and disruption of its gene, FKB2 were presented. yFKBP-13 was cloned and sequenced to make a product that closely resembles the membrane-associated human FKBP-13 which also possesses a signal peptide. fkb2 mutants were found to be viable and has unaltered sensitivity to FK506.
