Abstract
Computer simulation studies of the cellular stimulation mechanisms of cardiac tissues having a low-potential-gradient electric field (LPEF) reveal that LPEF heterogeneously activates many wavefronts in ventricular muscles that are normally polarized via a complex electrotonic reaction. Phase-plane plots of action potentials for higher maximum upstroke velocity are identical to the collision of longitudinal propagation and those with lower maximum upstroke velocity are identical to longitudinal or transverse propagation.
