Abstract
The conference proceedings for the 9th GEW Science Conference are a dispute for better financing and thus better working and employment conditions at universities. The authors discuss how sustainable science funding can be implemented. The focus is on trends in university financing, personnel planning in the context of third-party funding, the financial situation of students, performance catalogs of state financial support for research and teaching, and transparency and plannability of university careers. Finally, the managing board of the GEW educational union formulates five demands for sustainable funding for education and science - the Wittenberg Declaration. The authors are teachers, students and personnel representatives: within the universities, trade unionists: within as well as decision-makers: within politics.
Der Tagungsband zur 9. GEW-Wissenschaftskonferenz ist eine Streitschrift für bessere Finanzierung und damit bessere Arbeits- und Beschäftigungsbedingungen an Hochschulen. Die Autorinnen und Autoren diskutieren, wie eine nachhaltige Wissenschaftsfinanzierung umgesetzt werden kann. Schwerpunkte sind Trends in der Hochschulfinanzierung, Personalplanung im Kontext von Drittmittelfinanzierung, die Finanzsituation der Studierenden, Leistungskataloge staatlicher Finanzförderung von Forschung und Lehre sowie Transparenz und Planbarkeit von Hochschulkarrieren. Abschließend formuliert der geschäftsführende Vorstand der Bildungsgewerkschaft GEW fünf Forderungen für eine nachhaltige Bildungs- und Wissenschaftsfinanzierung - die Wittenberger Erklärung. Die Autorinnen und Autoren sind Lehrende, Studierende und Personalvertreter:innen der Hochschulen, Gewerkschafter:innen sowie Entscheidungsträger:innen aus der Politik.

Finally, the executive committee of the German Education Union (Bildungsgewerkschaft GEW) formulates five stipulations for a sustainable education and research funding - the Wittenberg declaration. The authors are teachers, students and staff representatives from universities, trade unionists as well as policy makers.
