This report analyses the individual structures and researches the historical and social background of a clachan settlement, a portion of which was excavated, at Moyveela between 4 March and 12 April 2008. The five buildings and associated features excavated represents part of a larger pre-famine clachan settlement likely to have been constructed by a group of tenant farmers from the Moyveela Estate. The clachan was probably abandoned prior to the Great Famine of 1845–49 as it is not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition map.
