Abstract
This report comprises the final results of the archaeological excavation of Site 34, Ask townland, Co. Wexford. Work was undertaken as part of the archaeological mitigation programme for the proposed N11 Gorey to Arklow Link Road Scheme. The excavation was directed by Liam McKinstry under Works No. A003/047, for Valerie J Keeley Ltd, from Monday the 11th of July to Monday the 18th of July, 2005. The site consisted of a medium sized oval shaped shallow pit. The pit displayed evidence of intense heating, which had turned the subsoil a brick red colour. Apart from a moderate quantity of charcoal there were no other artefacts recovered from the feature. Two parallel ditches were also identified within the site. On excavation these proved to be modern drainage ditches. No other features were identified within the site. THE COORDINATES GIVEN IN THE REPORT WERE INACCURATE, PRECISE CORRDINATES HAVE BEEN ADDED TO THE METADATA.
