Abstract
A moulding plane with a wooden stock and steel blade, used to create a decorative profile in wood. It is marked with the name of the manufacturer, 'L. Lund // London', and also with the names 'I. Wigfield' in two places, 'W. Newton' in three places, and 'A. Nott'. The plane is part of a set of cabinet maker's tools, many of which are marked 'W. Newton', suggesting this may have been the name of the cabinet maker from whom the donor acquired the set.
