This report describes the results of archaeological excavations that took place on the sites designated as 1F and 1E located on the route of the proposed N4 Sligo Inner Relief Road and County Extension (N4SIRR). Mary Henry Archaeological Services Ltd. undertook archaeological test trenching in advance of construction of the proposed road on behalf of Sligo County Council in 2001. During this phase of centreline testing, a number of features of archaeological potential were exposed within the townland of Caltragh. The sites were subsequently designated Caltragh, Sites 1F and 1E and were archaeologically excavated between May and July 2003.
