Abstract
Ostrov Sokotra je znám vysokým stupněm endemismu. Vlajkovým druhem ostrova je dračinec rumělkový (Dracaena cinnabari). Článek se zabývá popisem metody odhadu věku, věkovou strukturou populace, predikcí vývoje a prvními zalesňovacími projekty týmu lesnické a dřevařské fakulty Mendelovy university v Brně.
The Socotra island is well known for its high degree of endemism. The flagship species of the island is the dragon’s blood tree (Dracaena cinnabari). The article describes the age estimation method, the population age structure, development prediction and the first reforestation projects led by a Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology team from the Mendel University in Brno.
