Abstract
The sprig of thyme performed by Joseph Taylor. Audio digitised from a collection of lacquer discs created by the Library of Congress in 1940 from Grainger's original wax cylinder recordings. This audio in this example had been transferred from cylinder to a commercially available gramophone disc (His Master's Voice 3-2971) before being transferred to lacquer disc.
