Depicts the ruins of Kenilworth Castle, Warwickshire. Much of the decisive action of Sir Walter Scott's novel Kenilworth (1821) takes place in the Earl of Leicester's castle of that name. The now ruined castle was established by Geoffrey de Clinton, Chamberlain to Henry I, in about 1122.
