Abstract
Text on postcard reads 'The first locomotive engine employed on a public railway. This engine was built by Geo Stephenson in 1825 and continued to run on the Stockton ; Darlington Railway until 1850'. Postcard by M K Dunn, photographer, Darlington. This card dates from after 1902, but the photograph must date from before 1890, when the locomotive was moved from North Road to Bank Top Station.
