Il documentario mostra il funzionamento delle scuole professionali inglesi alternando alcuni momenti di fiction in cui un padre illustra al figlio, sfogliando un libro, le varie possibilità che esse offrono.

3 - l'entrata della scuola con una grande scalinata su cui stanno seduti degli studenti
4 - l'edificio scolastico
5 - da una uscita escono alcuni studenti con libri sotto il braccio
6 - l'interno di una casa con i coniugi seduti davanti al caminetto
7 - lui sfoglia alcune pubblicazioni, lei lavora a maglia
8 - entra il loro figlio di ritorno da scuola
9 - si salutano
10 - il ragazzo poggia la cartella sul tavolo
11 - si avvicina al padre
12 - il padre gli mostra il libro sull'istruzione tecnica che sta guardando
