Abstract
The purpose of this study was to categorize the contribution of young people to school education by type of school for final graduation, and to analyze the labor market performance of each school type. A Latent profile analysis was conducted to categorize the contribution to school education by school type, university graduate group, college graduate group, and high school graduate group. The study results are as follows. First, as a result of categorizing the contribution of young people to school education by school type, university graduates were divided into 5 groups, college graduates into 6 groups, and high school graduates into 4 groups. Second, as a result of categorizing contribution to school education, there was a tendency to be classified according to the type of school. Third, as a result of analyzing the difference in labor market performance between groups by school type, there was a significant difference between groups of school education contribution types. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the difference in labor market performance among the groups for each school type, it was found that the group recognized as having a high contribution to school education showed higher labor market performance. Finally, as a result of analyzing the difference in labor market performance by educational background of the youth, the contribution to school education and the pattern of job mismatch were similar by school type. After discussing the research results, suggestions for future research are presented as follows. First, in the follow-up study, when analyzing the contribution of young people to school education, it is necessary to consider school-level characteristic variables together. Second, it is necessary to measure and study the contribution of young people to school education in a longitudinal dimension. Third, additional consideration is needed on the relationship between school education contribution and school education satisfaction. Fourth, studies analyzing the labor market performance of young people by educational background should be continuously carried out.
