Abstract
This study was conducted with the purpose of exploring factors that affect the Subjective Class Identification of Korea Coast Guard Officers and utilizing various policy interventions that can increase the Subjective Class Identification of them. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, an empirical analysis was conducted using secondary data from a survey of Korea Coast Guard Officers in 2022. As a result, it was found that satisfaction with compensation, age, and satisfaction with family relationships were factors that influenced the Subjective Class Identification of Korea Coast Guard Officers. In particular, it was confirmed that the factor that had the greatest influence on the Subjective Class Identification of Korea Coast Guard Officers was satisfaction with compensation, supporting the results of previous studies. Considering these results, it was judged that if the current low level of compensation compared to private companies continues to be paid to them, their level of the Subjective Class Identification will weaken. Next, as their Subjective Class Identification decreases as age decreases, it seems necessary to investigate organizational problems recognized by new and young Korea Coast Guard Officers and seek flexible organizational change. Lastly, the lower the satisfaction with family relationships, the lower their Subjective Class Identification. Accordingly, it was revealed that appropriate compensation for long-distance work and working at sea was necessary.
