Abstract
Sign language Kim Whanki (1913-1974), who had already experimented with various forms from cubism and surrealism to pure abstraction in the 1930s when he studied in Tokyo, created a highly stylized screen by introducing specific forms of objects on the screen after liberation. His art world did not change much during the Parisian system from 1956 to 1959, but after moving to New York in 1963, he completed a completely different style of ignition as a pure abstract that was visually different from before 1970. Much research has already been done on Kim Whanki's art world, but relatively little has been revealed about his six-year work from 1963 shortly after the artist moved to New York to the 1970s, when full-scale lighting was announced in Korea through the first Korean Art Exhibition. This seems to be due to the fact that too many forms are simultaneously tested and decayed to grasp over time, and sometimes reappear, including various media such as oil paintings on canvas as well as drawings and oil paintings on Guashu newspapers. Many studies have identified the author's New York era as a "disconnect" from Seoul National University, and even if terms such as disconnection or break-up are not used directly, it implies disconnection by rarely mentioning the period or treating it with a very small proportion. Based on this problem recognition, the researcher analyzed the various forms of the artist's migration to New York from the early 1970s to reveal the process of completing the New York era full-blown series of sign language, which appears to be a different world, and what the connection points between the works are. In addition, the establishment of Seoul Auction and K Auction formed a competitive structure for the Korean art auction market, and changes in the auction system and excellent works began to be exhibited in the Korean auction market. If you look at the top artists of the current auction total by genre, Kim Whanki, who worked on ideas and abstracts in the field of Western painting, is at the forefront. Since then, despite economic fluctuations in the market, the winning bid price of Kim Hwan-ki's initiative and abstract works has been steadily rising, breaking the highest auction price in Korea. This study recognized that the trend of Kim Whanki's sales results traded in the auction market changed with the artist's work quality and the trend of the price of Kim Whanki's work in conjunction with the art historical evaluation, and had a great influence on the domestic and foreign auction markets. This formed a virtuous cycle in which the art market expanded. As a result, it will be said that the value of art history and the evaluation of scholars affect the market price over time. By re-examining and analyzing Kim Hwan-ki's work, which is breaking the highest price, Korean art will be verified in art history and will be an opportunity to expect stable value.
