Abstract
The purpose of this research is to propose an English class teaching plan for elementary school students through the application of the speaker type chatbot and the self-build chatbot. Activities based on each lesson of the textbook were introduced for the application of the speaker type chatbot and self-build chatbot. The activities for the application of the speaker type chatbot for the “Introduction” part of the lesson consisted of short dialogues, information requests, and orders of performance. Application of functions of short dialogues, information requests and orders of performance in the “Development” and “Closing” sections of the lesson based on the contents of the textbook were also proposed according to the class teaching process of the textbook. Activities for the application of the self-build chatbot were mainly composed of dialogue interactions between the learners and the chatbot. Activities of the application of the self-build chatbot in the “Development” section such as in “Listen and Speak” and “Play and Have Fun” were suggested using role plays. Activities of the application of the self-build chatbot in the “Closing” section of the lesson were also introduced in sections of the class such as the “Check up”, “Homework”, or “Introduction of the next lesson”. Precautions during the activities of the application of speaker type chatbots and self-build chatbots were also provided based on the each class teaching process of the textbook.
