Abstract
Using the Panel Study on Multi-cultural Adolescent Panel Survey(MAPS), we investigated the effect of social support, depression, and social withdrawal on victimization of school violence. The results were as follows: First, victimization of school violence was found to be strongly influenced by degree of friend support. Second, parent and friend support were found to be strongly influenced by degree of depression. In addition teacher support had a significant influence on improving the depression. Third, social withdrawal was found to be strongly influenced by degree of friend support. And teacher support had a significant influence on improving the social withdrawal. Fourth, depression had a strongly influence on improving social withdrawal and victimization of school violence. In addition it was identified that parent and friend support not directly relate to social withdrawal. On the basis of the results of the analysis, this study discusses the ways to reduce school violence victimization of multicultural students.
