Abstract
According to prior research on pedophilia, a child sexual pervert who has a psychosexual disorder tendency has been classified as a person who has a child sexual violence while a person who has a child sexual violence who has a antisocial personality tendency has been specified as a child sexual pervert. In other words, for sexual offender who has a psychosexual disorder tendency or antisocial personality disorder tendency, sexual offender has not classified into child sex pervert and person who has a child sexual violence even though there are many differences in individual characteristic, psychological characteristic, and psychological type, and preventive measures. Therefore, the primary purpose of this study is to analyze 10 actual court cases on pedophilia in order to examine psychological characteristics of perpetrators including living conditions, prior abuse or violence experience, mental disorders and so on. In particular, the current study applies two major classifications of sexual offenders including DSM-5 and MTC(R1). The results from a qualitative analysis reveal that majority of offenders had family issues and had experienced violence and abuse during their childhood and more than half of the offenders are classified either exploitative type or aggressive/sadistic type. Based on the study results, two main policy implications are discussed.
