Abstract
This study is conducted to explore perceptions and behavior about the eating habits attitudes and body satisfaction based on the background of high school students. The data of this study has been collected from 131 high school students living in Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk during April, 2013. This survey is consisted of three parts; the attitude for lifestyle and eating habits, perception of body and body satisfaction, and demographic data. All the collected data has been analyzed with the Predictive Analytics Software (PASW; Statistics v. 18.0). The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for right attitude toward obesity management by exploring various ways for proper dietary life and body-image of high school students. As the results, first, in the area of demographic data section, 53.4% of those who responded said 'pretty healthy'. Second, in the area of attitude for eating habits section, their practices for weight-control behaviors were insufficient, while they had wills depriving themselves of food. In the section of lifestyle, they did excises and weight checks by periods. The last, in the section of body satisfaction, they showed they had higher body-shape satisfaction than their self-esteem as responding 'I am pretty satisfied with my body shape (M=2.74)'.
