Abstract
In this study, the concentration of VOCs in 78 domestic industrial complexes were observed by using a mobile monitoring system with SIFT-MS during the 2nd and 3rd seasonal fine dust management program. In addition, the correlation among major industries by industrial complex, emission by component, and measured concentration was reviewed in order to suggest effective VOCs emission management plans in these regions. As a result, the total concentrations of 29 VOCs species in the industrial areas by region were high in the order of the metropolitan area, central area, southeast area, and southern area. In the case of the metropolitan area, the average concentration of VOCs was the highest in the agglomerated area of small factories, suggesting the need for monitoring and management of emissions from small businesses. The result of factor analysis between VOCs measured concentrations by industrial complex indicates that fugitive emissions of organic solvents, manufacturing of various synthetic resins, fibers, rubber and other chemical products, automobile manufacturing and so on mainly affect the concentration of VOCs in domestic industrial complexes. Consequently, the mobile monitoring system with SIFT-MS supplemented the limitations of the emission source monitoring at a fixed point, and effectively measured the impact of air pollutant emission from nearby sources.
