Abstract
Subarray beam forming is widely employed in order to reduce hardware cost and system complexity. There is, of course, degradation in array performance due to correlated errors at the subarray level. The paper develops a new technique for the mitigation of quantization grating lobes, which may occur in a sum (/spl Sigma/) and difference (/spl Delta/) antenna beam pattern due to quantization of the aperture distribution at the subarray level.
