Abstract
Demosaicking is one of the core modules in the Image Signal Processor (ISP), which converts raw images into RGB images. The demosaicking algorithm is mainly used in ISP, which has high requirements on the complexity and accuracy of the algorithm. For this purpose, we propose a hardware friendly demosaicking algorithm based on edge sensing (EHD). We classify the edges using gradients of color difference and interpolate as far as possible along the edge direction rather than across the edge. The experimental results show that our proposed algorithm achieves high subjective quality and cPSNR of 39.15 dB, which is 0.84 dB better compared to the LED algorithm.
