Abstract
Traditional frequency modulation unit has low efficiency and slow response speed. However, as the advantages of battery energy storage are gradually recognized, its role in islanded power grid frequency modulation is gradually being used in practice. Based on the consideration of both the grid frequency modulation effect and the state of charge (SOC) of the energy storage battery, this paper proposes a control strategy of dynamically adjusting frequency adjustment coefficient and droop coefficient based on the equivalent frequency response model of the grid system and the state of charge of the energy storage battery. It can maintain the charge of the energy storage battery while ensuring the demand for frequency modulation. Finally, an equivalent transfer function model of an islanded grid was built in Matlab/Simulink, and simulations were performed under different power disturbances and different initial SOC values of energy storage batteries to verify the effectiveness of the control strategy.
