Abstract
A free-space optics communication network with the mitigation of multiuser interference was developed on the basis of a polarization spectral amplitude coding (P-SAC) optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) scheme. With the cyclic property of the used cyclic ternary perfect codes, a common codec can be constructed using the arrayed waveguide grating routers. Moreover, the complementary keying and polarization encoding schemes could both be applied to generate superior spectral efficiencies. According to a theoretical analysis, our P-SAC OCDMA-based network design outperformed those of previous networks.
