Abstract
Alternative energy and efficiency improvement are the main ways for green shipping industry. Efficient utilisation and coordinated control of multiple energy sources are the key technologies. In this study, the energy management strategy (EMS) of a parallel hybrid power ship is studied. First, the structure and operating mode of the target hybrid power system is analysed, in addition, the hybrid power system model consisting of diesel engine, LNG generator and battery is built by AMESim software. Second, a variable equivalent factor (EF) is designed based on the penalty function, and an EMS is proposed based on double-layer equivalent consumption minimisation strategy (ECMS), moreover, the strategy model is built using Simulink. Finally, the co-simulation verification is performed based on AMESim-Simulink. The results show that compared with the fuzzy logic control strategy, under the same designed condition, the proposed strategy can optimise the fuel economy of diesel engines and LNG generators, resulting in a reduction of 1.25% in fuel consumption and 5.36% in CO 2 emissions; in the meantime, it can improve the charge-sustainability of the battery.
