Abstract
This paper presents a 3D ray-tracing algorithm for computing indoor electromagnetic field environments based on uniform diffraction theory and geometric optics theory. First, the algorithm simplifies ray propagation by classifying the rays from the source to the field point into multiple classes based on two-dimensional planar paths. Then, the two-dimensional interior model is screened for visibility between walls to eliminate impossible wall paths and determine the exact two-dimensional ray paths, and finally, the two-dimensional ray paths are converted to three dimensions. This algorithm is able to reduce the large number of scenes tested with rays, achieves an acceleration of traditional algorithms, and proves its applicability to indoor scenes in comparison with the results of existing software.
