Abstract
The upsurge in automobile use is a result of population expansion. A system that automatically reads license plates is utilized to effectively regulate the security system. In the absence of human help, the system recognizes the vehicle number plate using image processing. Any digital picture on the number plate is instantly recognized by a computer system. There are many applications, including complex security systems, public areas, parking entry, and urban traffic control. A few factors, including light and speed, contribute to the complicated features of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR). The bulk of ANPR systems are developed using specialized software like MATLAB. In this paper we have used open-source tools like Python and the Open Computer Vision Library to provide a new approach for ANPR systems. We have presented a comparison analysis of the existing methods with our proposed method.
