Abstract
Optical probing was used to investigate the IDT-radiated bulk acoustic wave properties in Y-cut X-propagation LiTaO 3 crystal. IDT radiation patterns for symmetric and nonsymmetric IDTs with periods 50μm and 48μm, electrode pair numbers 35 and 36, respectively, were determined from the diffracted light intensity dependences on light incidence angle and compared to each other. Variation of the IDT electrode/gap width ratio enables to adjust spatial distribution of the radiated acoustic beam intensity.
