Abstract
Dustbins are generally used for the collection of household waste in our homes. On a daily basis, we mainly deal with two types of waste, classified as dry and wet waste. Mixing these wastes makes the segregation process difficult at a later stage, so segregation is suggested at the home level. Therefore, our research revolves around the implementation of smart dustbins within households, aiming to transform homes into environmentally friendly spaces while fostering a greener environment. For this proposal, a smart IoT-based dustbin is implemented, which will segregate dry and wet waste and has the potential to greatly improve waste management in both urban and rural areas. These dustbins are capable of monitoring the garbage level and sending that information to the homeowner by using the Internet of Things. As a result, waste can be disposed of on time. In this research paper, we also worked on the design and implementation of a smart IoT-based intelligent dustbin that is capable of segregating dry and wet waste using reliable and new technology. We also discuss the potential benefits of such a system, including improved waste management and reduced environmental impact.
