Abstract
Turbine blades are complex free-form surface parts and their inspection by a CMM or profile templates is slow, inefficient and expensive. Accordingly a 3D optical measure system with four measure heads has been developed. This system acquires complete point cloud data of a blade in 60s. The 2D twist analysis and Blade section analysis can be obtained after 3D CAD reference models and as-built parts are aligned. Experiments show that the entire profile inspection of a blade can be completed in 10 minutes with a precision of 0.1mm/m.
