Abstract
In order to realise 5G communication, massive regulations and standards are proposed and Heterogeneous Networks (HetNets) have become one popular means since it can utilise the existing infrastructure. The focus of 5G has changed from the last generation from operator centric services to user centric services. For the purpose of achieving Quality of user Experience (QoE) supported 5G, network selection in HetNets based approach is demanded and the implementation also should be intelligent. In this paper, we have proposed that the classic utility method can be applied under such a condition. If we can modify the classic utility approach, more advanced features can be enabled in order to support QoE 5G communication. Furthermore, in this paper, we demonstrate this idea through a LTE and WiFi integrated network. A solution for the smart network selection problem is delivered in a LTE and WiFi integrated network in order to achieve 1) Better user experience and 2) manageable resource allocation.
