Abstract
In this paper, A solid-state power amplifier with high-power operating in the k-band is proposed. The power amplifier system uses the TGA4040 from QORVO as the chip and an 8-way waveguide power divider is implemented for power synthesis. In addition, the system is equipped with modules for bias control, power display, coupling detector and air-cooling protection. According to the experimental results, the amplifier system achieves a continuous wave saturation output power of more than 50W in the frequency range of 18-26.5GHz, a power gain of more than 47dB and a power additive efficiency (PAE) of around 20%, which meets the requirements of practical engineering applications.
