Abstract
The electromagnetic scattering response from a target can be modeled by its natural SEM poles. In this paper, we describe two methodologies to detect and identify the target. One methodology is to make a library of the poles of the target using the Cauchy method. Another proposed methodology is to detect and identify the target using the matrix pencil method. Results are presented for a 0.1 m (diameter) perfect electrically conducting (PEC) sphere.
