Abstract
Time-varying meshing stiffness (TVMS) calculation is the basis of gear system dynamics analysis. Aiming at the calculation problem of meshing stiffness of straight bevel gear, a single meshing stiffness (SMS) model was constructed based on the thought of equivalent tooth profile and micro-element. Then, based on the principle of deformation compatibility, the TVMS model is derived. Finally, the error source is analyzed and the calculation method is verified by comparing with the finite element method (FEM). The comparison results show that the calculation method proposed in this paper can realize the fast calculation of the meshing stiffness of straight bevel gear with a small loss of accuracy.
