Abstract
In this work, the performance of Constrained Affine Projection Sign Algorithm (Constrained APSA) is investigated in adaptive beamforming application under the influence of impulsive noise and white Gaussian noise. Through the simulation, it is found that the algorithm stands out robust in both environments. The beampatterns obtained are compared with the Constrained Affine Projection algorithm (Constrained APA) and the Constrained Least Mean Square algorithm (Constrained LMS). Also, the paper demonstrates the effect of projection order and step size on constrained APSA. The experimental results show that the increase in projection order improves the beampattern and the convergence speed. Hence higher projection orders can be selected in constrained APSA owing to its low computational complexity.
