Abstract
Rural internet connectivity in India is very poor and is non-existent in many villages. Providing the villages with affordable and reliable internet connectivity will undoubtedly act as a catalyst for the development of the villages. In order to understand the current state of rural connectivity in India, we conducted a survey of 15 villages in different parts of the country. This work provides an analysis of the results of the survey. It also presents a capacity planning model to estimate the connectivity needs of a village based on its population and demographics.
