Abstract
Band edge filtering is used for multiple synchronization techniques such as symbol timing synchronization. This strategy for synchronization has been expanded to coarse frequency synchronization for low earth orbit (LEO) applications by adjusting the frequency response of the filters. This work designs a resource efficient filter capable of carrier frequency locking to the received waveform up to one-hundred times the symbol frequency at $\frac{{{{\text{E}}_{\text{b}}}}}{{{{\text{N}}_0}}} = 0{\text{dB}}$. This novel design uses zero multipliers in total and achieves high performance in the harsh environments of a LEO mission.
