Abstract
In this paper, a Happiness Cups (H-cups) system is proposed to bi-directionally convey the holding-cup motions of paired cups between two remote users. To reach such a goal, a H-cups system is functional through three important components. Firstly, a paired cups embedded with an accelerometer sensor, which is used to transmit the 3-Dimensional acceleration signals to a motion recognizer App designed on an Android phone, and receive the remote recognized motion to blink the specific color on local cup's RGB-LED by Bluetooth. Secondly, an App dealt with the holding-cup motion recognition from cup, which is based on DTW and SVM classifiers, and send the local recognized motion through a midway server then transmit to the remote paired cup by internet. Finally, a midway server is established and used to exchange and forward the recognized holding-cup motion between two paired cups, in which five holding-cup motions, including, drinking, horizontal shaking, vertical shaking, swaying and toasting are proposed and recognized by DTW and SVM. The experimental results indicate that the recognition accuracy of user's holding-cup motion are able to reach 88.0% and 92.4% in terms of DTW and SVM, respectively.
