Abstract
The application of commutation switch is an effective method to solve the problem of three-phase unbalanced current caused by load asymmetry. However, the current commutation switch will cause a long-time power failure and a sudden change of load voltage phase. Therefore, a seamless commutation switch (SCS) based on power electronic device is proposed in this paper. The proposed SCS seamlessly transfers the load to the SCS before the power supply phase adjustment. Then the load voltage will be regulated by SCS to be consistent with the target phase in advance. After the power supply phase is adjusted, the load will be seamlessly transferred to the feeder again to achieve the exit of SCS. The proposed structure can not only realize seamless commutation through smooth load transfer between phases but also eliminate the impact of the sudden change of load voltage phase at the commutation moment. The effectiveness of the proposed method and the designed control strategy are validated via MATLAB/Simulink.
