Abstract
In this study, the heating properties of magnetic nanoparticle (MNP) samples were comprehensively examined. We quantified the specific loss power (SLP) values from dynamic magnetization measurements performed over wide ranges of intensities and frequencies of the applied AC magnetic field. SLP values of approximately 0.1–300 W/g were obtained over these ranges with the magnitudes depending on these field parameters, which could not be achieved from temperature measurements. Because we used commercial magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs), our results were compared with previously reported heating properties. This is important for developing the research on MNPs for hyperthermia. The intrinsic loss power (ILP) was also calculated. The specific features unique to the properties of each MNP sample were clarified from the intensity and frequency dependences of the ILP.
