Abstract
A meandered T-shaped patch antenna is designed for microwave thorax monitoring & is operational at 4GHz with a small size of 12mm x 18mm, which is appropriate for wearable devices. The dielectric loss tangent of 0.0013 and permittivity of 3 are features of the Rogers RO3003 substrate on which the antenna is designed. To obtain the required resonance frequency, meandering branches are used. One antenna serves as the transmitter while the other serves as the receiver. The most obvious signs of many conditions falling under the category of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), such as heart failure and lung carcinoma, are pulmonary oedema and pleural effusion, which are accumulations of fluid-mostly with a high-water content-in or around the lungs. One among the most effective methods of initial identification of CVDs is to monitor fluid levels inside the lungs. So, the prospective antenna is designed with a small size, as it can be used as a first-decision -making tool to pinpoint the precise cause of the oedema. The suggested antenna has a gain of 2.6 dBi & a maximum return loss of 15.9dB at 4GHz.
