Abstract
In the modern corporate world, advertisements have become a vital tool for organizations to increase their visibility and enhance their businesses in a greater way. Various sectors including E-commerce, social media, entertainment, and television incorporate targeted advertisements to enhance their Return on Investment (ROI) while reaping significant benefits from leveraging customer demographic data. However, it is apparent that many businesses are still unable to effectively target their customers, and one such example is the digital advertising displays in shopping malls, which display the same advertisement layout without any targeting. In this paper, we develop a targeted advertising system mainly targeting shoppers in shopping malls based on their gender and age identification. We utilize learning and computer vision methods to develop the system “I-Advert”. The “I-Advert” is an automated and targeted digital advertising system for shopping malls, which effectively addresses the limitations of existing systems. In order to gain a comprehensive understanding of the system, we tested out the system indoors and in a real-world small shop as well.
