Abstract
A novel multi-partition based low power on-chip LED driver with minimal in-rush current has been presented in this paper. The in-rush current can be reduced to an acceptable magnitude by the proposed technique by utilizing multiple small sized power MOSFET instead of using a single large power MOSFET. The area consumed by the proposed multiple small sized power MOSFET is only 26μm whereas the area consumed by the conventional LED driver is 100μm for the same amount of current to be delivered. Moreover the in-rush current is reduced to a greater extent from 2.405A to 166.5mA by the proposed technique. The proposed multi-partition based on-chip low power LED driver outperforms in terms of the area as well as minimal in-rush current.
