Abstract
This work proposes a novel mini-LED driving circuit that serves as a backlight unit for liquid-crystal displays (LCDs). This low-temperature poly crystalline-silicon (LTPS) based circuit adopts the pulse-width modulation (PWM) driving method to operate mini-LED at the best luminous efficacy point. The TFT-matching method is used to compensate for the threshold voltage $(\mathrm{V}_{TH})$ of the driving and the control TFTs. Moreover, the proposed circuit only has the driving TFT and the mini-LED on the driving current path, reducing the voltage across the circuit. The power improvement against the compared 6T1C circuit is at least 19.54%.
