Abstract
In order to meet the needs of wireless low-latency transmission of high-definition video for the mission load of unmanned ground vehicle (UGV), a set of high-definition video codec system (HD VCS) based on Camera Link interface and limited bit rate was designed. The HD VCS uses H.265 compression technology and limited bit rate to compress the same image to varying degrees and evaluate its quality separately. The Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR) in the full-reference objective evaluation is used to evaluate the error in the image compression and transmission process, and the structural similarity (SSIM) is used to evaluate the degree of restoration of the image, and they are correlated with the subjective evaluation score. Explore the relationship between bit rate and image quality, and then analyze the most suitable bit rate range in various application scenarios, and use it as the adjustable range of bit rate of the HD VCS to achieve a balance between image quality and transmission bandwidth.
