Abstract
In this work, a dumbbell shaped DGS integrated probe fed rectangular microstrip antenna has been designed and developed over a flexible/textile substrate. Around 25 dB co-pol to cross-pol radiation isolation in H plane with no change in co-pol radiation pattern has found. Further, the same structure has been studied in case the substrate is of wavy/bumpy nature. A prototype has also been fabricated to support the proposed conjecture. It reveals effect of substrate on the radiation charateristics of the antenna.
