Abstract
This paper presents the simulation and measurement of a near field antenna coupler with low coupling loss and high galvanic insulation (safety insulation to electrical hazard) for metallic panelboard installations. The antenna coupler is formed by three parts: a monopole antenna, a coupling structure and an insulator. Transmission losses at 2.45 GHz are measured at 1.4 dB. When the coupling structure is taken off, the monopole is well matched and presents a gain of 1.21 dBi.
